I had an epiphany 2 years ago with a similar question, but my answer was definitely in the affirmative; "Will this be my last ever monetary contribution to the WTBTS? Yes!".

PUBIC TALKS
by The Searcher innope - it ain't a typo!!
because, what are advertised as "public" talks, hit below the belt!
they are simply more org-fed propaganda for the congregation, and if there happens to be some poor unsuspecting sucker in the audience - so be it!.

Nope - it ain't a typo!!
Because, what are advertised as "PUBLIC" talks, hit below the belt! They are simply more Org-fed propaganda for the congregation, and if there happens to be some poor unsuspecting sucker in the audience - so be it!
Two cardinal examples which make me cringe - both of which were spouted out at today's meeting:
1) During the PUBLIC talk - "Let's read this Scripture which we are ALL very familiar with".
2) During the prayer - "The only place of TRUE worship in our town".
If I were a non-Witness hearing this, I'd rather not come back to such an arrogant and self-righteous place!!
Any "glorious ones" ones lurking here today? Take note, and counsel your buddies on their vocabulary!

Ok... so Mom did the robotic JW thing and people in my home country know about me...
by ILoveTTATT inso.... i went out all day today... just wanted to get away from the sh!tstorm that was created yesterday.
anyways... i come home like an hour ago, and my dad told me that mom called my aunties in central america and told them stuff about me, and also she told the elders of her hall... the elders want to meet with me, but i think that it will be at my house.
i am curious about your ideas about:.

Why would you want to walk up to a hornet's nest and whack it with a stick?
You ain't gonna convince any of those you love by becoming a "spiritual suicide bomber". Simply tell the ravenous wolf-pack (elders) that you are having personal spiritual issues which you can't discuss with anyone except in prayer to Jehovah. Then thank them for their concern and assure them that when you're ready, you'll talk with them.
If they ask you any questions about what you said to your mom, tell them that whatever you said to her in private, is between you and her and you don't wish to go through it all again! Brush them off - don't get invoved in discussions with them!
You said, "I just tried to tell a friend, super smart guy... he asked me to stop... to stop telling him or else he would cut me off.." My sister cut me off for a year because I was telling her about the Org's financial situation and its dealings with the U.N. & the O.S.C.E.

2013 WT CD Library?
by blondie inwill the wts be issuing one (or has issued onne already?
) or will the www.jw.org online library be the future?.

We are still waiting for the delivery of the orders for the 2014 CD ROM. However, I am pretty convinced the Org's strategy is to make it obsolete by directing everyone to the online library, thereby having people source the current "understandings".
That way they'll prevent old lies and mistakes being discovered by folks. (fat chance, thanks to the Net!)

Sheparding Call
by DS211 inat the meeting last night i was approached by an elder and he asked me what my schedule was like for the next week or so.
i told him im not sure ill have to tet back with him and i asked why and he said kindly but in an odd sort of way "for a visit".
my wife and i have not gone out in field service and have been missing meeting left and right mostly due to sickness and family.

If it's simply a shepherding call, then why don't they just tell you so?
It is only reasonable for someone to ask them politely, "Why am I being privileged with a visit from the elders?". If they remain unforthcoming about their motives, play the depression card as suggested, thank them for their concern, but you'll call them when you're feeling better!
It wouldn't hurt to be prepared to say, (if they really push you) that your personal problems can only be told to Jehovah in prayer, and then thank them again for their loving concern!! :)
P.S. DO NOT ALLOW ELDERS TO HAVE A MEETING WITH YOUR WIFE ON HER OWN!!

NEW NAME FOR THE WT MAGAZINE!
by The Searcher inin the uk, there was a popular t.v.
show called the only way is essex - a documentary type programme about that area which is close to london.
the programme's name got abbreviated to its initials - towie, and that is how it is now named.. since the org's uk branch is moving to essex, perhaps the uk version of the magazine will be renamed, the watchtowie..

BESTY - I can honestly say I've never watched one minute of the programme. From the publicity surrounding it, I decided it wasn't for me!

Your an apostate whether you are an ex JW or just a member of a christian church .
by smiddy injehovahs witnesses have long said that christendom has apostasised itself from the true religion after the apostles left the scene , and by the 3rd /4th century the weeds had taken over .. however they have always taken a softer stand with christendoms members because thats where their potential members would come from , and for decades this proved to be true.
is this still the case ?
or has their been a shift by witnesses against family members who are of a different faith .. a baptised witness who leaves the religion is cut off , shunned by family members unless they return to the fold.. depending on the time one has been a witness , how strong they are as members , or how indoctrinated they are does tend to vary with individuals.. yet the organization has strongly come out against apostates especially among their own , do you see a trend against family members who are christian though not jw`s ?.

Your statement really demands that a crucial question must be asked of any Witness, namely, "If Christendom is APOSTATE, and by extension its ADHERENTS are also apostate, then why do you go and speak to to APOSTATES in your ministry?

hello!
by gamergirl inglad to be a new member and find others with similarities of background.
some background info on me: my dad became jw when i was young, so i spent maybe a third of my life in the religion.
although i respect everyone's beliefs, i personally knew many genuinely selfless people in my congregation, but the way i was raised, now that i am an adult i am realizing was very sheltered and unrealistic.

Welcome GAMEGIRL.
I'm sure you will be loving and gentle with your dad if ever discussing the Org's version of the Bible with him. On here, you will come to learn things which you feel your father must learn, but don't beat him over the head with them. Simply ask him questions about a given subject, and get him to analyze WHY he believes what he does, compared with what certain Scriptures say.
That way, you could help him to see what the Bible REALLY teaches!

A London Bethelite speaker came to our hall and gave a talk. He said that the disciple James appeared to have been the CHAIRMAN of THE GOVERNING BODY in Jerusalem!! Appreciative whispers followed this wonderful new lite!
